Beach season is finally here!! (Despite what the weather says……..) Enjoy the Long Weekend everyone!

We all love summer. But when you live in New York City, you know that summer also means crowds, humidity and feeling like you could literally cut the air down in the subway. So if you’re like us, and looking to beat the heat on the weekends, we suggest an alternative to jumping on the packed trains headed out to Long Island.
Enter Storm King Art Center. Located in the rolling hills of the Hudson Valley, Storm King Art Center is just 50 miles north of NYC- an easy (and probably much less crowded) train ride. Gazing out across this vast outdoor art exhibit you feel as if you are being immersed in nature and the art itself is nothing less than jaw-dropping. The modern sculptures set against the luscious green landscape provides for a breathtaking and wonderfully contrasting aesthetic. Spend the day wandering the grounds and enjoy a relaxing summer picnic dinner, or dine nearby in the charming town of Cornwall-on-Hudson.
Both art experts and novice’s will thoroughly enjoy all this 500 acre park has to offer… and everyone will appreciate the brief respite from the steamy city!

Located in Lima Peru, this modern and chic take on beachfront living is the perfect fit for those seeking a vacation home with a contemporary aesthetic.
Immersed in the sandy dunes along the Pacific shoreline, this locale provides the laid-back vibe you would expect from a beach house–yet the clean lines and minimalist design allow this home to maintain a sleek sense of style. The square footage maximizes the use of indoor/outdoor living space with an expansive terrace and spa area that is perfect for soaking up the rays and enjoying an afternoon cocktail. Meanwhile, the aqua-blue lapping waters of the ocean are only steps away… How’s that for convenience?
This beautiful coastal construction was designed and built by Vertice Arquitectos, a local Peruvian firm that specializes in unique and luxurious homes.

The Bosco Verticale, currently under construction in the Italian city of Milan, will become the world’s first vertical forest when completed. The project will aid in improving air quality within the city and will also serve as a model for other urban areas looking to provide a solution to reforestation. The two structures will double as residential apartments and are slated to open in late 2013.

The highly-anticipated film version of the “The Great Gatsby” is premiering this weekend and we can’t wait to see this American classic come to life on the big screen.
Set in the jubilant era of 1920’s New York, the film perfectly captures the extravagance and gaiety that defined the time period.
See how the set and cast have transformed since the first release of the movie in 1974, starring Robert Redford and Mia Farrow. We think that Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan may give them a run for their money…

The movie’s fashions are already being raved about and have inspired multiple collaborations with the film’s costume designer Catherine Martin. Brooks Brother’s released the limited-edition “Gatsby Collection” which exudes the high-class sense of style that is portrayed in the film. Brooks Brothers’ produced almost all of the male clothing worn in the movie including the black bow tie worn by Leonardo DiCaprio on the film’s poster.
