The luxury swim and resortwear brand has officially opened the doors of its first retail space on Madison Avenue
Onia is proud to announce the debut of the brand’s first-ever standalone retail location. Located in the most important luxury shopping destination in New York City, on Madison Avenue at 76th Street, the split-level flagship store will showcase the current men’s and women’s Spring 2020 collections, including apparel, accessories, and signature swim styles that offer a fresh perspective on the modern traveler’s warm-weather wardrobe.
Entirely designed by the in-house team at Onia with fully customized fixtures, the 300-square-foot, loft-like space reflects the brand’s lifestyle with an open, minimal layout emphasizing clean lines.
Matte white walls and frost gray flooring combine for a subtle color-story, while bespoke black rails constructed with precision-engineered lighting emit a soft glow — discreet refraction bringing to life the surfaces and designs for a spare gallery aesthetic that emphasizes the label’s craftsmanship, graphics, and functionality. Customers will be collaborators, exploring Onia’s creative vocabulary in an environment meant to be an instant vacation from the city’s sensory overload.
Informed by The Smith House, Richard Meier’s seminal 1968 waterfront masterpiece and the 1993 Tate London retrospective of influential abstract artist Robert Ryman and his muted monochrome, dynamic squares, the Upper-East-Side shop embraces visionary modernism while looking to its founding heritage principals.
Onia is proud to partner with Boxed Water to offer our guests complimentary, 100% recyclable, sustainably sourced beverages. Our soundscape — influenced by the South of France — was conceptualized by legendary DJ and Hotel Côstes music producer Stéphane Pompougnac.
